Integrating Facility Management Systems

Several large companies have centralized computer aided facilities management in place that will monitor and controls the environment across their large buildings and campus facilities. These systems have started to migrate to more open IT infrastructure in the same way that telecom and networks have converged. The Next-generation facility infrastructures will have much more integrated than simply banking on automated facility management systems that is backed by IT network. The long-term vision will be that you’ll be able to control the building operations based on criteria, preferences, and business rules. Open standards are beginning to evolve and will likely breakdown the silos between facility operations. The data from these systems are likely to be shared with other departments such as accounting. This will allow the making of smart buildings and allow fixed asset tracking as system applications are developed that will benefit from newly converged data streams and real-time access to information.

The asset tracking software will help organizations track asset life cycles, cost of ownership of the assets, asset depreciation, group of assets and know the complete information of the real estate portfolio. This software will help organizations maximize and prioritize the investment while significantly reducing operating expenses.
